Community Air Grant Request for Applications Workshop Workshop will be held January 10, 2023 The California Air Resources Board (CARB) invites you to participate in a remote-access (Zoom) public workshop for the Community Air Grants Program (Air Grants Program) request for applications which was released on December 5, 2022.  Electronic applications must be submitted no later than 11:59pm and hardcopy applications must be submitted no later than 5:00pm on March 3, 2023. Public Briefing: Understanding Air Quality Trends in Richmond-San Pablo, California

  On December 15, at 5:30pm PT join PSE Healthy Energy for a briefing on new air quality research in California's Richmond-San Pablo region. Participants will learn about trends in air quality observed by the Richmond Air Monitoring Network - a dense network of air quality monitors located throughout Richmond, North Richmond, and San Pablo in the East Bay. Scientists will discuss what the trends in air pollution mean for the community, which is home to many sources of air pollution, including oil and gas facilities, high volumes of traffic, large and small industrial facilities, and port and freight activities. The Richmond Air Monitoring Network project was done in partnership between PSE Healthy Energy, the Asian Pacific Environmental Network (APEN), and University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley). Accepting nominations from the public for the 2022 Haagen-Smit Clean Air Awards Due December 16, 2022 Considered the “Nobel Prize” in air quality achievement, CARB’s Clean Air Awards in honor of Dr. Arie Haagen-Smit have been given annually since 2001 to individuals who have made transformative contributions toward air quality and/or addressing climate change. To date, over seventy awards have been made in a variety of categories, including: Education International Work Research Environmental Justice Policy Science/Technology Nominations are now being accepted for the 2022 Haagen-Smit Clean Air Awards.
