Strategic Growth Council Opens Comment Period for New Draft TA Guidelines for State Agencies

The California Strategic Growth Council (SGC) is pleased to release the first draft of its new Technical Assistance (TA) Guidelines for State Agencies. SGC encourages the members of the public to provide feedback on the document. Please email comments to TA@sgc.ca.gov by Monday, July 20, 2020.

These TA Guidelines provides tools, tips, and best practices to State agencies seeking to design and implement effective TA and capacity building programs. As directed by Senate Bill 1072 (Leyva, 2018), SGC designed the Guidelines to help State agencies to both deliver effective TA, and develop internal policies, standards, or practices to guide their provision of TA. In order to develop the document, SGC’s Community Assistance for Climate Equity team brought together a TA and capacity building workgroup comprising practitioners from across 13 State agencies. While State agencies serve as the main audience for the TA Guidelines, other stakeholders seeking to provide or receive TA will likely find the manual useful as well.

SGC encourages anyone with experience or interest in TA or capacity building programs is encouraged to comment on the draft TA Guidelines. SGC will release the final document in August.

For an overview of the TA Guidelines and to better understand their purpose, , please join an informational webinar on Wednesday, July 8 from 1-2pm. Participants will also be able to ask questions and provide input on the draft document during the webinar.
