Methane Task Force to Hold Public Meeting in February

Sacramento, Calif. – The Methane Task Force, comprised of the Department of Conservation’s Geologic Energy Management (CalGEM) Division, the California Air Resources Board (CARB), and their umbrella agencies, the California Natural Resources Agency and California Environmental Protection Agency, will host the second Methane Task Force Public Meeting on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. in the evening. 

The virtual meeting will provide updates on current and upcoming efforts at both agencies to address methane emissions, including an update on CalGEM’s Orphan Well Abandonment Program and Prioritization Methodology and CARB’s Satellite Monitoring Partnership. The Methane Task Force public meeting will include time for public comments.
