SGC seeks a talented and passionate person to join our innovative, equity-focused Transformative Climate Communities ( TCC ) Program to support program implementation, evaluation, and administrative efforts in our TCC -invested communities . The Transformative Climate Communities ( TCC ) Program funds community-led development and infrastructure projects that achieve major environmental, health, and economic benefits in California’s most disadvantaged communities. The ideal candidate should have experience working with local jurisdictions on capital improvement project or/and community development and is passionate about equity and sustainable community planning. New on Resources Radio Equity and Electricity: Race Gap in Household Energy Use, with Eva Lyubich In this episode, host Daniel Raimi talks with Eva Lyubich, a PhD student in the Department of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley, and a researcher at the Energy Institute at Haas. Lyubich elaborates on her recent working paper which reveals that black households in the United States pay higher energy bills on average than white households. Connecting her research to ongoing conversations about environmental justice, Lyubich discusses how these disparities stem in part from historically discriminatory policies that have restricted black Americans’ housing choices and ability to invest in energy efficiency. Community Air Protection Incentives: New and Ongoing Funding Opportunities

New opportunities are here for air districts to address a wider array of community concerns through incentives. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) recently shared a proposed addition to the Community Air Protection Incentives 2019 Guidelines with the public: a new chapter allowing air districts to design new kinds of incentives to clean up stationary sources of air pollution and to address concerns identified in the emissions reduction programs in the communities selected for participation in Assembly Bill 617. An air district may submit for consideration new types of projects to address stationary sources of pollution. These sources typically consist of small industrial and manufacturing facilities, but any source of pollution at a fixed location may be considered stationary.
