The Division of Environmental Health in the Department of Preventive Medicine at the University of Southern California announces a new Postdoctoral Research Fellow position available in Summer 2021. The successful candidate will conduct investigations around community-driven epidemiology for environmental justice in both urban and rural contexts. We are seeking applicants with demonstrated experience in and/or commitment to working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and members of underrepresented groups. Research opportunities on multiple community-driven environmental justice projects focused on industrial pollution, health disparities, community science, and community engagement abound in Southern California. Fathers & Families of San Joaquin have published a Greenlining the Hood report. This report goes over efforts in Stockton to engage youth and residents in activities to learn about and take action on local environmental injustices including: an EJ Workshop Series, Photovoice, Citizen Science / Environmental Testing, Intergenerational Interviews, Reentry Focus Group, Community Beautification/Treeplanting, and engagement in city planning processes such as Transformative Climate Communities and AB617.   January 13, 2021 Release #21-02   CARB announces new executive to lead Environmental Justice, Community Air Protection Program español SACRAMENTO  – Today CARB Executive Officer Richard W. Corey announced the appointment of Chanell Fletcher as the Deputy Executive Officer of Environmental Justice. Fletcher will oversee CARB’s Environmental Justice and Community Air Protection Program and be responsible for developing CARB-wide environmental justice policies.
