Wishing Tree Park in West Carson Grand Opening Scheduled for May 16

This 8.5-acre park located at 20400 Budlong Avenue, Torrance, is the first park in unincorporated West Carson and marks a testament to the decades-long advocacy and determination of community members to transform an underserved site into a vibrant greenspace.     Wishing Tree Park boasts unique features that cater to the diverse needs and interests of the community.

Commercial Harbor Craft Regulation

  en espaƱol Technical Working Group (TWG) In R esolution 22-6 approving the amendments to the Commercial Harbor Craft (CHC) Regulation on March 24, 2022, CARB’s Board directed staff to form a Technical Working Group (TWG) to assess the commercial availability of lower-emitting combustion engines and zero-emission technology for harbor craft and report back to the Board by December 31, 2024 and every two years thereafter through December 31, 2032. The TWG welcomes all affected stakeholders, including vessel operators, industry associations, environmental and community-based organizations, community members, zero-emission or alternative fuel technology developers, engine and after-treatment manufacturers, academic institutions, government agencies, and members of the public. CCEEJ Launches First Grant Writing Training Course

  The Center for Community Energy and Environmental Justice (CCEEJ) is excited to announce the launch of the first grant writing training program in partnership with  Writing for Green . CCEEJ invites applications for an  online class starting June 1st  that provides hands-on training on the fundamentals of grant writing.  Whether you are new to grant writing or a more experienced writer, in this course, you will develop a wide range of competencies necessary for effective grant writing – how to use storytelling in persuasive writing; managing workflow across a proposal preparation team; creating and presenting sound budgets, and grant evaluation plans. Following the completion of the class, CCEEJ will continue to support course graduates to maintain and build grant writing skills with the growing community of writers.  What to expect: The program will last 8 weeks, with 1 hour of online class
