Greenlining Institute: 2021 Leadership Academy Applications Open Now!

  Exciting news! The Greenlining Institute is now accepting applications for our 2021 - 2022 Leadership Academy.  From public speaking and coalition building to program management and legislative advocacy, our paid 10-week Summer Associate and 11-month Fellowship programs equip emerging leaders with tools and experiences to elevate their careers to the next level. We are seeking values-driven individuals ready to take the lead on racial issues and advance equity in order to empower our communities and build a more just and inclusive society. Our next cohort of racial equity leaders will join more than 1,000 alumni propelling our movements forward in every sector of government, industry and the nonprofit world. I'd like to share a link to the application for the Richmond/N Richmond/San Pablo Community Emissions Reduction Plan (CERP) Steering Committee.  The study area encompasses Richmond/San Pablo/North Richmond/Montalvin Manor, and they need as many community members as possible to get involved. Initial commitment is at least a year starting early 2021. If you know people in these areas please forward this email. The application and conflict of interest form are  here . New Funding Opportunity EJ Mini-Grant and Technical Assistance Program

     New funding opportunity! Environmental justice mini-grant and technical assistance program   To support community-based organizations working to advance environmental justice in their communities, the National Environmental Health Partnership Council is pleased to announce a mini-grant and technical assistance program. The Partnership Council is convened by APHA and supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Environmental Health/Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry.   The  Advancing Environmental Justice through Technical Assistance Mini Grants  program will award $10,000 to three community-based organizations. Eligible organizations must be U.S.-based 501c3 nonprofits with a demonstrated ability to work with community members to advance environmental justice. This event will feature short videos that AIRE members created with the support of the StoryCenter on their experiences with air pollution and their work to improve air quality in environmental justice communities across California. At each stop on this virtual road trip, AIRE members will also share what they and their organizations are doing to bring healthier air to our communities.
