Ever wondered how air toxics regulations are developed?

Come join staff from the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) Air Toxics Program for an informational evening on the regulatory process. What is it? What must be collected to meet the requirements of State law? How can you get involved in this process?

We would like to hear from you. How can you voice your concerns during CARB’s regulatory development? What are ways to be involved in the process? How would you like to get more information?

Background

CARB’s Air Toxic Program aims to reduce exposures to air emissions of toxic chemicals for all Californians. There are several components to the program, including identification and control of air toxic substances, public notification of significant toxics exposures, and a process to reduce these risks. CARB’s Air Toxics Program has developed a number of regulations, or Airborne Toxic Control Measures (ATCMs), to help reduce exposures to air toxics. Some of CARB’s Air Toxic Program regulations include:

·       Chrome Plating ATCM

·       Composite Wood Products ATCM

·       Stationary Diesel ATCM

CARB’s goal is to ensure all voices are heard as we work to reduce community exposure to air toxics. Please come and share your experiences and concerns with the CARB Air Toxics team as we collaborate and create new ways for the community to participate in the regulatory process .
