The Air Resources Supervisor I (ARS I) is the first line supervisor of a section of professional, technical, and community outreach employees who perform complex technical analyses and assessment on equity and environmental justice in all CARB programs, and coordinate outreach and facilitation to environmental justice organizations and communities. The ARS I supervises and is responsible for the incorporation of environmental justice in CARB programs or leading environmental justice efforts on behalf of CARB. The ARS I directs and supervises the activities of Air Resources Engineers, Air Pollution Specialists, Air Pollution Research Specialists, Air Resources Technicians, Automotive Emissions Tests Specialists, Air Resources Field Representatives, Instrument Technicians, and clerical staff. Typical tasks performed include, but are not limited to: planning, evaluating, and managing air pollution control programs and projects and implementing regulations to reduce air pollution from motor vehicles and stationary sources; and presenting technical staff recommendations at board meetings.
