Components of a Community Air Quality Monitoring Network: A San Ysidro, CA Case Study will be hosted by Casa Familiar in the border community of San Ysidro, CA.
Join us to discuss the basic tenets of monitors, sensors, collection of data and data analysis. Casa Familiar shares their community-based perspective alongside researcher, governmental, and industry perspective.
In this introductory workshop Casa Familiar staff Alejandro Amador (Community Air Quality Program Supervisor) and Sarina Vega (Environmental Programs Associate) will lead conversation and be joined by San Ysidro Air Quality Monitoring Network collaborators Penelope "(Jenny) Quintana (Dept. of Public Health, San Diego State University), Edmund Seto and Elena Austin (Dept. of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences, University of Washington).
Introduction to be provided by Idalia Perez at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Together we will discuss:
- AB617, California's Community Air Protection Program
- Monitors + sensors that make up Casa Familiar's San Ysidro's AQ Monitoring Network
This workshop is expected to be the final workshop in a 2-part series.
