California Energy Commission (CEC) is seeking nominations by June 25, 2021 to honor California leaders
Launched in 2020 as part of the CEC's 45th Anniversary celebration, the Clean Energy Hall of Fame Awards is an annual event recognizing leaders advancing California’s clean energy goals. The awards honor individuals and entities making exceptional contributions to help California achieve a 100 percent clean energy future for all.

Launched in 2020 as part of the CEC's 45th Anniversary celebration, the Clean Energy Hall of Fame Awards is an annual event designed to honor the leadership and outstanding achievements of Californians who help advance the state’s clean energy goals. The awards aim to motivate and inspire all stakeholders to continue to lead California to a 100 percent clean energy future by 2045. As California Governor Gavin Newsom said, “We will never waver on achieving the nation’s most ambitious clean energy goals.” The 2020 Clean Energy Hall of Fame Award winners exemplified these principles. Nomination Information
The nomination period is open until June 25, 2021. Please complete the information at the bottom of the linked page to submit nominations.
Eligibility
The awards honor individuals and entities making exceptional contributions to help California achieve a 100 percent clean energy future for all. The categories include one, “Lifetime Achievement,” four “Clean Energy Champions” and one “Youth Game-Changer.”
Lifetime Achievement
The Lifetime Achievement award will recognize an individual who has retired or announced their retirement during the year of the event who has at least 20 years of experience advancing clean energy, is seen as a leader in their community, and who has had a significant positive impact on the State of California and environmental justice communities.
Clean Energy Champion
Four Clean Energy Champion awards will recognize individuals or organizations who are contributing to California’s clean energy future through their bold moves, leadership, and innovative ideas, while helping benefit communities in California through more equitable outcomes.
Youth Game-Changer
One Youth Game-Changer award will recognize an individual who is 18 years of age or younger who, or an entity/organization focused on youth that, is helping to advance California toward a clean energy future through innovative methods and inspiring the new generation of energy experts, entrepreneurs, and leaders to change the game.
