(C.E.A) – Assistant Deputy Director, Land Use and Local Government Relations

The Assistant Deputy Director (ADD) oversees Land Use Planning and Local Government Relations and Accountability and serves as senior policy advisor. Assists in accomplishing the State’s mandated requirements to provide land-use oversight over 539 jurisdictions through the housing element process, as well as accountability with numerous other housing laws.

A senior specialist position working on a variety of land use topics including accountability with housing laws, ADUs, housing element reviews, preservation, technical assistance to local and regional governments, and other exciting projects that come to the unit. Ideal candidates understand local government entitlement and permitting processes and have experience working for or with housing developers and/or local government.

The SSM II will oversee staff responsible for innovative housing policy projects including using state and local public lands for affordable housing and promoting the use of emerging tools and technology to inform and implement policy.

Salary Range: $6,213 - $7,777 per month


  • Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) – Planning Grants and Incentive Programs Analyst – Multiple positions

The AGPA will provide contract and communications support for incentive programs, Prohousing designations, planning grants, technical assistance to local and regional governments, and other exciting projects that come to the unit.
