Carbon Capture and Storage Symposium
Carbon Capture and Storage Symposium
September 29, 2022
University Plaza Waterfront Hotel
Stockton, California (and Virtual)
Description
The EPA R9 Regional Administrator, Chair of the California Air Resources Board, and the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability are co-sponsoring a daylong symposium on Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS) in Stockton, California on September 29, 2022.
The purpose of the symposium is to create a space for a diverse group of stakeholders—academics, environmental justice (EJ) stakeholders, and state and federal policymakers—from across the United States to discuss environmental and public health concerns, and challenges related to the use of CCS technology to inform current policy and regulatory processes, with a specific focus on any potential impacts on local communities.
The symposium agenda has been developed by a planning committee comprised of government staff, environmental justice advocates, and academics. This group identified you as a subject matter expert whose voice and background would enhance the discussion. We hope you will be able to join us for this important dialogue.
This meeting will be conducted in person at the University Plaza Waterfront Hotel in Stockton, California as well as virtually for those who cannot travel. In person participation is encouraged, as remote participation may be limited in functionality. Due to seating and COVID safety precautions, there is a cap of 200 for in person participation.
