Air Quality Concerns Survey

Project Summary

CARB received $30 million through legislative appropriation to conduct a Statewide Mobile Monitoring Initiative for criteria pollutants, greenhouse gases, and toxic air contaminants in areas of poor air quality. The Statewide Mobile Monitoring Initiative is part of California Climate Investments, a statewide initiative that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy, and improving public health and the environment — particularly in disadvantaged communities.

CARB is committed to being transparent and responsive to community stakeholders. As such, CARB is utilizing a two-part outreach process to help inform both the technical and engagement aspects of the project.

Request for Information (RFI)

CARB has released a Request for Information (RFI) to help better inform both the technical and the engagement and outreach portion of this project. The goal of this RFI is to gather information on currently available service providers and their capacity for this work. The RFI was released on September 20th, 2023, and is open until November 3rd, 2023.

Interested parties may view the RFI information using this RFI LINK.

Air Quality Concerns Survey

As part of the RFI, CARB has developed a simple survey tool for submitting air quality concerns and comments. Submitted comments will inform future monitoring activities, including those under SMMI.

The survey is available here: SURVEY LINK .

We strongly encourage interested parties (on any part of the project) to respond to the Request for Information and participate in the air quality concerns survey.
