Community Air Grants - Draft Request for Applications for Cycle 5, Available for Public Comment
Cycle 5 - $15M Available for Funding, Draft RFA Available for Public Comment, August 2024 Public Virtual Workshops
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is pleased to announce the release of the Community Air Grants (CAG) Draft Request for Applications (RFA) for public review. CARB anticipates approximately over $15M available in grant funding for Cycle 5.
The following are eligible to apply for a Community Air Grant under these solicitation Guidelines: A California community-based organization holding a current tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; A California organization, not affiliated with a local, municipal, city, county, or state governmental agency or entity, and holding a tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code as the Grantee, in partnership with a California community-based organization without Section 501(c)(3) status designated as a sub-grantee; or A California Native American Tribe. For the purposes of this grant, this includes all Federally Recognized Tribes, and other California Native American Tribes, as defined by Governor’s Executive Order B-10-11.
CARB staff has initiated a public process to develop and refine the next Request for Applications (RFA) for Cycle 5. CARB’s outreach and engagement process on the draft Cycle 5 RFA will include representatives of communities consistently nominated for the Community Air Protection Program, previous applicants, past and current grantees, air districts, Tribal governments, local land use agencies, academia, business, and industry. CARB will conduct an outreach and engagement process that will include focused discussions with AB 617 partners and stakeholders and holding two virtual public workshops in August 2024.
The Pre-RFA Virtual Public Workshops will be held via Zoom at the following dates and times. A presentation will be provided on the Community Air Grants Events webpage prior to the workshop dates.
