We are recruiting a candidate who is passionate about and experienced in climate and energy justice, racial justice, and health equity! Knowledge of the housing / energy / health nexus a plus.
The Health Program Specialist (HPS I) provides health equity input into California’s climate change mitigation and adaptation activities, with an emphasis on the intersection of energy, weatherization, healthy homes, climate change, and heath equity. The HPS I provides support to State and local agencies to improve health and equity through energy-related measures, programs, and policies, and to ensure that low-income and other underserved residents benefit from clean and healthy energy. The HPS I advances racial equity, climate and economic justice, diversity, and inclusion in approach, processes, policies, and deliverables.
Candidates from historically under-represented communities are highly encouraged to apply. CDPH has participated in the Government Alliance for Race and Equity (GARE) for four years, and is implementing its Racial and Health Equity Plan, addressing issues such as hiring, retention, workplace culture, recruitment pipelines, programs, polices, and more.
This position will be based in Sacramento, CA (when we are no longer telecommuting due to COVID-19).
The position pays $5,656.00 - $7,080.00 per month.
The application has multiple parts and can be confusing, so please feel free to ask for clarification. Please email Daniel.Woo@cdph.ca.gov with questions.
