AB 628 Breaking Barriers Grant Release

 

The Foundation for California Community Colleges, in partnership with the California Workforce Development Board, is pleased to announce the RFA release for up to $22.7M in available grant funding through the AB 628 Breaking Barriers to Employment Initiative. 

 

Overview: The purpose of the initiative is to provide individuals with barriers to employment the services they need to enter, participate in, and complete workforce preparation, training, and education programs aligned with regional labor market need through innovative approaches to addressing racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities.

 

Eligibility: Community-based organizations and local workforce development boards are eligible as lead applicants. 

 

Where to Apply: Access the full solicitation on the CWDB's Breaking Barriers webpage and the online application through the Cal E-Grants website under the Funding Opportunities tab. Applications are due Friday, September 2, 2022.

 

Application Period Support: 

 

·    An Application Presentation recording will be posted on the Breaking Barriers Initiative web page on Tuesday, July 19th.

 

·    Questions may be emailed to breakingbarriers@foundationccc.org. All responses will be posted online weekly on the Breaking Barriers Initiative web page.

 

·    Multiple interactive office hours sessions will be offered to support prospective applicants with RFA-related questions. Registration is required (see links for each session below).
